About the Role

We are working with a leading Japanese renewable energy company focusing on onshore and offshore wind, who are looking to bring in a Technical Manager, Electrical, to look after their operating assets.


Responsibilities

  • Overseeing activities to ensure the stable operation of wind power plants through the application of specialised knowledge.
  • Providing support for the assessment of new projects and engaging in technical negotiations with wind turbine Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Enhancing the technical proficiency of power station staff within their respective specialties.
  • Developing and executing planned technical training initiatives.
  • Establishing and guiding management methodologies.
  • Investigating and reporting on electrical accidents within specialized fields.
  • Providing on-site support for equipment condition monitoring.
  • Assisting in repair planning and budget formulation within specialized areas.
  • Engaging in technical negotiations with international contractors leveraging specialised expertise.
  • Undertaking any other support tasks as required by management.

Requirements

  • Experience in the design, manufacture, or maintenance of electrical equipment for wind turbines at a wind turbine OEM or electrical equipment manufacturer.
  • Background in wind turbine maintenance, particularly with extensive experience in electrical equipment maintenance.
  • Proficiency in handling various types of high voltage and low voltage electricity, as well as expertise in designing and maintaining wind turbine communication and control systems.
  • Possession of a First Class Ordinary Vehicle License.
  • Ability to conduct technical negotiations with business partners in English.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with electrical-related qualifications such as professional engineer in the electrical and electronics department or chief electrical engineer.
