Summary

Collaborate with the acquisition of sites, projects & portfolios from third party developers and manage and supervise the development of such projects through to Financial Close.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Review and assess projects from a development standpoint (land, community engagement, permits and licenses)

· Coordinate the Legal and Technical Due Diligence process with the support of the internal teams and external advisors

· Manage and supervise the progress of development of projects being carried out by third party developers

· Identify, pursue and develop new business opportunities together with third parties (developers)

· Maintain and develop strong working relationships with third party developers

· Interact with land owners, local developers and municipalities.

Knowledge & Experience

· Essential to have prior experience in business development and project sourcing in the solar PV industry in Japan, coming ideally from a project developer

· Hands on experience in developing PV projects in Japan: land identification and negotiations, environmental permitting, administrative authorisations, grid application, etc.

· Solid understanding of environmental constraints and land requirements

· Experience is corporate PPA origination or negotiation with corporate offtakers

· User level experience with financial models to assess project returns and evaluate impact of different assumptions

· Good knowledge of the main players in the industry (TAs, investors, EPCs, third party labs, etc.).

· 3 to 15 years' experience in business development some of which in the Solar Industry in Japan is required
