About the Role
NextWave are working with a leading energy owner and operator who are developing a portfolio of gas fired power projects in the US. As a result of this pipeline of projects progressing, they are looking to hire an Engineering Manager to oversee these assets through development and execution.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the selection and evaluation of major equipment for large-scale natural gas projects
- Collaborates closely with development, finance, and environmental teams to refine plant designs and enhance performance outcomes.
- Contributes technical input to commercial negotiations with equipment manufacturers and engineering firms, particularly around performance criteria and contractual penalties.
- Tracks industry advancements such as low-carbon technologies and energy storage developments, offering strategic insights into their application in future projects.
- Works with project development teams to support all phases of project planning and execution.
- Partners with engineering consultants across disciplines to create robust project estimates and support decision-making at the executive level.
- Assesses proposed upgrades or changes to current energy assets, evaluating technical feasibility and potential value.
- Participates in the review and technical assessment of energy asset acquisitions, including operational history and forecasted performance.
- Oversees and validates contractor performance testing to ensure compliance with agreed technical specifications.
- Provides support for high-voltage interconnection processes, including sizing and specification of critical electrical components to align with utility standards.
- Assists senior engineering and construction leaders with defining scope and strategic planning for new infrastructure projects.
Requirements:
- Over 10 years of experience working on large utility scale projects
- Bachelor's Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering
- Fluency English is essential due to both internal and external stakeholder relationship management duties
