About the Role

NextWave are working with a leading energy owner and operator who are developing a portfolio of gas fired power projects in the US. As a result of this pipeline of projects progressing, they are looking to hire an Engineering Manager to oversee these assets through development and execution.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the selection and evaluation of major equipment for large-scale natural gas projects

• Collaborates closely with development, finance, and environmental teams to refine plant designs and enhance performance outcomes.

• Contributes technical input to commercial negotiations with equipment manufacturers and engineering firms, particularly around performance criteria and contractual penalties.

• Tracks industry advancements such as low-carbon technologies and energy storage developments, offering strategic insights into their application in future projects.

• Works with project development teams to support all phases of project planning and execution.

• Partners with engineering consultants across disciplines to create robust project estimates and support decision-making at the executive level.

• Assesses proposed upgrades or changes to current energy assets, evaluating technical feasibility and potential value.

• Participates in the review and technical assessment of energy asset acquisitions, including operational history and forecasted performance.

• Oversees and validates contractor performance testing to ensure compliance with agreed technical specifications.

• Provides support for high-voltage interconnection processes, including sizing and specification of critical electrical components to align with utility standards.

• Assists senior engineering and construction leaders with defining scope and strategic planning for new infrastructure projects.

Requirements:

• Over 10 years of experience working on large utility scale projects

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering

• Fluency English is essential due to both internal and external stakeholder relationship management duties
