About the Role

A global organisation with proven Australian capability across both utility scale wind and solar developments. As a Senior Development Engineer, you will join an established renewable energy development team, revered within the market for consistent and cohesive community engagement practices. They pride themselves on building long term relationships, from conception through to operations and beyond.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the development team, you will contribute to the prospecting, feasibility, design and planning stages of renewable energy project development. This will include:

  • Evaluating potential sites for wind and solar developments, through focused research and data collation to determine commercial viability

  • Utilising your technical capabilities to support the broader commercial team to review sites, collect data and document on site findings.

  • Advanced GIS mapping support

  • The preparation of project designs for all infrastructure, including tracks, cables, wind turbines/solar arrays and electrical plant

  • The preparation of written documentation, specifically the technical issues which contribute to the the developments environment impact statement (EIS).

  • Wind resource analysis and assessments, utilising relevant software's

  • Supporting internal and external stakeholders as a key technical advisor across a range of renewable energy technologies. Highlighting any potential risks which may impact current or future developments.

  • Support junior team members to further develop their technical and commercial capabilities.

Requirements

  • Software: WindPro and Manifold

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)

  • Minimum 3+ years experience in the development of Utility Wind/Solar projects as a technical engineering advisor, in a consultancy or developer.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills - ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a range of audiences.

  • Commercially astute, with an appreciate for the complex and layered challenges faced when developing renewable energy projects

  • Ability to work effectively and successfully with others through collaboration and open communication
