NextWave Partners is working with a global multinational oil & gas conglomerate diversifying into renewables. The company is seeking a Senior Business Developer to support their Head of Development US for West Coast development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver bids (government tenders or projects sell down) and prepare corresponding documentation for internal approval
  • Market and regulatory watch of their respective zones
  • Contribute to the development strategy in their respective areas
  • Ensure good relations with public & private off takers as well as local stakeholders, and participate in relevant meetings, sometimes as the sole company representative
  • Identify and establish potential partnerships in development and co-investment
  • Pilot or supervise specific tenders or acquisition in coordination with partners and local entities of the company, and act as the main point of contact with the partners, being therefore entitled with relevant power of attorney
  • Prepare internal committees’ relevant documentation, in coordination with Structured Finance, Legal and Technical teams
  • Assist in supervising teams made available to projects

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills will be necessary to engage local stakeholders
  • Flexible mindset and autonomy are needed
  • Deep understanding of US renewable project development
  • First understanding of the offshore wind market, if possible floating offshore wind
  • Knowledge of Californian and/or Oregon costal stakeholders
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement
  • Understanding of project financing and modeling
