The incumbent will manage and oversee the development of renewable power plants (wind and solar PV). Proficiency in English is necessary as this role requires good coordinating and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic development plan and schedule to ensure a project progresses from early development to shovel ready stage (i.e. ready for construction)
  • Coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring tasks are executed on time, within scope and within budget:
  • Engineering: site identification, measurement campaign (i.e. met mast / LiDAR), plant design optimisation, grid interconnection, feasibility assessment
  • Business development: permitting, land acquisition, stakeholder engagement (i.e. local authorities, community, grid operators, etc.)
  • Legal: regulatory compliance, contract documentation, legal due diligence
  • Investment / Finance: business opportunities, market trends, budgeting, investment papers, project finance
  • ESG: EIA (local and international), environmental red flags, CSR programmes
  • Build and maintain a relationship with external consultants, contractors, equipment manufacturers (turbine OEMs, PV module, inverter suppliers, etc.)
  • Manage external due diligence consultants (e.g. engineering, environmental, land, etc.) and other temporary contractors
  • Ensure all works are properly conducted according to industry best practices and company policies, with health and safety as a top priority
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, and escalate issues to management as needed
  • Prepare and present development reports to local Country, Regional and other company senior management, periodically or as requested
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Graduate in Business, Engineering or related course
  • Min 6 years in project management, preferably within the power or energy industry
  • Experience in renewable energy a must
  • Experience in solar and wind developer preferred
  • Working experience overseas or multinational environment an advantage
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good negotiation and presentation skills
  • Self-directed
  • Good skill in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint
  • Proficiency for the following knowledge preferred
  • Energy modeling: PVsyst, SolarGIS, Openwind, Windfarmer, WAsP
  • GIS: ArcGIS / QGIS, Global Mapper, Google Earth
  • Other: AutoCAD, Excel VBA
