NextWave Partners is working with a leading global offshore wind developer who is expanding their North American team to capture opportunities in the growing West Coast floating offshore wind market. A vital part of this team is an environmental permitting expert who will work with the development team to make headway into securing lease sites for the continued growth and success of the company into this emerging space.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the environmental permitting of the company’s projects from initial planning through execution phases (focus on California)
  • Interface with government agencies and all other necessary external stakeholders
  • Assist in the tracking of environmental data, changes, and obligations
  • Manage outside consultants
  • Travel up to 25%

Requirements

  • Experience with managing third-party consultants/contractors, schedules, and budgets
  • Bachelor’s degree in an environmental science, regulation or policy, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in energy or a related industry
  • Permitting experience in the western United States, particularly California
  • Knowledge of wildlife and environmental laws (ESA, NEPA, MBTA, BGEPA)
  • Competency in analytical problem-solving and strong communication skills
