About the Role

NextWave Partners is working with a cutting-edge renewable energy developer, spearheading the transition towards a sustainable and clean energy future. Backed by a leading investment firm committed to shaping innovative solutions, this company is at the forefront of revolutionising the renewable energy landscape.

They are looking to appoint a Head of Operations and Maintenance to help support their growth and join its Singapore office and be responsible for all O&M activities across the APAC region. You will provide functional direction of all O&M matters throughout business operations. The main responsibilities are to:

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance activities on solar arrays, inverters, and associated electrical systems to ensure they operate at peak efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to wind & solar systems, including monitoring equipment, electrical components, and communication systems.
  • Regularly monitor system performance, evaluating the energy production of solar arrays, and identifying any deviations from expected results.
  • Lead, build, and nurture a high-performing O&M team across the SEA region, ensuring alignment with company values, objectives, and strategies while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Establish and oversee the implementation of a centralised system and control room for real-time monitoring, data collection, and analysis of plant operations, ensuring timely response to deviations and optimising plant performance.
  • Analyse system data and performance reports to optimise energy production and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that all O&M activities are carried out in compliance with safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of spare parts and equipment, and reorder supplies as needed to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs, and provide reports to management and clients.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including project managers, engineers, and subcontractors, to execute maintenance activities effectively.
  • Be available for emergency response and repair activities in the event of system failures or critical issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest wind & solar technology and O&M best practices, and provide training to junior technicians or site personnel as needed.

Qualifications and skills for the role:

  • A technical degree or relevant certification in solar or wind technology, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in wind or solar operations and maintenance or a related field is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with best-in-class industry standards, practices, and innovations related to solar energy, ensuring optimal performance and compliance across projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with best-in-class industry standards, practices, and innovations related to solar energy, ensuring optimal performance and compliance across projects.
  • Valid driver's licence and the ability to travel to project sites within the region.
