Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Head of Operations & Maintenance to lead the operational performance and maintenance strategy across our portfolio of wastewater treatment, biogas, and resource recovery plants. This role will oversee multi-site teams, ensure plant reliability, optimize asset performance, and uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end operations and maintenance (O&M) for all biogas upgrading and liquefaction assets, including anaerobic digestion facilities, biogas purification systems, and LNG production and storage units.
• Develop and implement O&M best practices, SOPs, and preventive maintenance schedules tailored to biogas upgrading technologies (e.g., membrane separation, PSA, water scrubbing) and cryogenic LNG systems.
• Manage and supervise multidisciplinary O&M teams and contractors across biogas feedstock processing, gas treatment, liquefaction, and LNG storage/distribution to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
• Track critical KPIs, including biogas yield, methane purity, LNG production rates, plant uptime, energy efficiency, and carbon intensity reductions.
• Oversee the integration and use of CMMS and SCADA systems, with a focus on real-time monitoring of gas quality, liquefaction process control, and safety systems.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis (RCA) of performance deviations, process optimization for methane recovery, and technical training for LNG facility operators.
• Ensure full compliance with HSE standards, hazardous area classifications, and environmental regulations, particularly those governing methane emissions, LNG storage, and bio-based fuel certification schemes (e.g., RED II, LCFS).
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams during commissioning, performance testing, and operational handover of biogas-to-LNG infrastructure to ensure seamless startup and long-term reliability.
• Lead O&M budgeting and spares planning, with particular focus on cryogenic components, gas analyzers, compressors, and LNG storage safety systems.
• Act as the technical representative for the company in performance-related engagements with investors, off-takers, regulatory agencies, and certification bodies, ensuring transparent and data-driven reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in plant operations and maintenance, including 5+years in a leadership role
• Running or commissioning biogas-to-LNG or similar gas processing plants
• Managing O&M teams and contractors, Using CMMS, SCADA, and plant automation tools, Root cause analysis and process optimization
• Hands-on experience with CMMS, SCADA/DCS systems, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with HAZOP, HAZID, and safety compliance standards (ISO, OSHA, etc.).
• Strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills.
• Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally be on-site during troubleshooting or emergency situations.
