About the Role
Client is a Global Renewable Energy IPP and developing renewable energy projects across Asia and the U.S. Globally, they have 20+ GWs pipeline and are backed by a Global Private Equity Fund.
This role for a Director of Project Development is a critical hire to lead the development of Solar and Energy Storage projects across the Pacific Northwest.
The role can be a Senior Director or Director level depending on the candidate's experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Director of Project Development will be responsible for the development of utility-scale Solar and Battery Storage projects across the Pacific Northwest (PNW) market and drive the development of existing pipelines, new greenfield development, and project acquisition.
- Director of Project Development will be responsible for managing and supporting permitting, site control, interconnection matters, power marketing, design/ Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC), financing and other matters critical to the development of Solar and Energy Storage projects throughout the Pacific Northwest (PNW).
- Director of Project Development will be responsible for managing and analyzing the information flow relevant to project development from internal subject matter experts and external consultants/vendors.
Key Requirements:
- 10+ years of project development experience in Renewable Energy sector covering the Pacific Northwest region (PNW).
- Strong track-record in project management, land, real estate, permitting, offtake negotiation, interconnection, planning, and other matters critical to development.
- Demonstrated success and experience developing utility scale Solar/Wind/Energy Storage and/or renewable energy projects in the Pacific Northwest (PNW). Familiarity with relevant state, county and city codes, procedures and regulations required by local planning and building departments in the Pacific Northwest (PNW).
- Experience preparing, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements including development agreements, site control agreements, consulting and service agreements, interconnection, and power sales agreements, etc.
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Construction, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Management, or another Analytical field required.
