NextWave Partners USA is exclusively working with a leading developer, owner, operator of energy storage and renewable hybrid projects, backed by a reputable global investment management firm. Our client is seeking an industry leader for a critical business leadership hire of a Vice President - Project Development to lead the project development across the Eastern US market for energy storage and renewable hybrid projects.

The role reports to the CEO. The ideal candidate will be based in the Eastern US, however, the location of the workplace is flexible.

Responsibilities:

  • VP - Project Development (East) will own and execute project development strategy in the region and lead the development of utility-scale projects to successful financial close, working with in-house and external subject matter experts.

  • VP - Project Development (East) will work with the origination team to cultivate customer relationships in the region as well as work closely with internal and external resources to structure, negotiate and close project transactions.

  • VP - Project Development (East) will be responsible for budget and driving profitability of utility-scale projects in the region, and lead due diligence for development or acquisition projects.

  • VP - Project Development (East) will work closely with regulatory and policy experts to track and incorporate policy and power market changes into regional strategy.

Requirements:

  • VP - Project Development (East) will have 10+ years of leadership experience in renewable energy project development (preferably utility-scale). Bachelor's Degree + MBA.

  • VP - Project Development (East) will have strong project development experience in PJM and NYISO.

  • VP - Project Development (East) will have a successful track record of executing complex energy projects and/or transactions.

  • VP - Project Development (East) will have strong leadership skills and the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, including a creative and proactive work ethic. As part of a lean and dynamic team, the candidate must be able to plan, oversee, and personally execute numerous projects simultaneously, work well under pressure, and adjust to changing priorities.
