The client is a newly established energy storage development group that has been setup by leading infrastructure investment group and a battery storage system integrator. With an exciting pipeline in of projects in the region they are now looking to grow their team in Singapore.

About the role
The client is a newly established energy storage development group that has been setup by leading infrastructure investment group and a battery storage system integrator. With an exciting pipeline in of projects in the region they are now looking to grow their team in Singapore.
Responsibilities
Evaluate various technologies, integrators, suppliers and assist in selection process
Develop and maintain strong technical relationship with the key suppliers of equipment. Key suppliers not only include battery manufacturers, inverter manufacturers but also integrators and construction companies
Optimize project configuration and solution by working with key suppliers and their product lines and road maps
Perform gap analysis and evaluate technical risk in different system designs, configurations and develop risk mitigation approach and suggestions.
Develop project specific technical specifications and costing estimates
Provide technical support to procurement team during the RFP process and contract negotiation that deliver against business objectives and achieves sustainable relationships with suppliers
Assist in contract negotiation and lead technical agreement of project solutions including terms & conditions and performance guarantees
Participate in site and factory acceptance tests and provide technical support during the during the construction phase, as necessary
Work to develop services and asset management requirements for project portfolio
Technically and commercially adept with energy storage market and assist in developing forecasts for prices and technologies
Assist in commercial risk evaluation which includes cost sensitives from geopolitical, regulatory and evolving supply chain issues
Familiar with design concepts around short circuit protection, conductor sizing and familiarity with balance of plant systems including thermal systems, safety systems etc.
Requirements
Btech/MTech in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or equivalent.)
Strong knowledge of battery technologies, control systems and utility scale power plants
Understanding of Power Electronics, Balance of plant system and their application to BESS
Familiarity with evolving quality factors and trends within the battery industries
10 - 15 years of engineering experience in design and technology evaluation
Experience in sourcing and contract negotiations
Experience with power plant design, construction and operation. Solar and wind experience is a plus
