Responsibilities
- Oversee and assume accountability for project planning, management and coordination
- Coordinate with internal construction, procurement and engineering teams to manage solar project development, construction and financing
- Assist in diligence and feasibility of new projects
- Engage and cultivate relationships with external stakeholders, off-takers, landowners, utilities and regulatory authorities
- Ensure all commercial conditions are in place to satisfy standard requirements, including obtaining of necessary studies, surveys, permits, easements and encroachments from the relevant utilities (and/or off-takers), landowners, or governing authorities, while working alongside the Legal, EPC and Finance teams
- Transition projects from the development phase into the construction phase and then post-financial close
- Oversee handoff of projects from Construction team to Asset Management team in conjunction with project energization process
- Evaluate process improvement of internal project development
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of experience in renewable energy project development; exceptional and highly motivated candidates with less than 1 year direct experience but experience in construction, renewable energy, project finance, etc. may be considered
- Professional and thorough approach to project development, with a deep understanding of technical, financial and commercial aspects
- Demonstrable experience in progressing renewable energy projects from conception to completion
- B.S. or B.A. degree or equivalent (preferably in Engineering, Construction Management or related fields)
- Self-starter with strong organizational, written and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams
- Team-player mentality; ability to work with different teams in the organization to ensure sound management of project development opportunities from inception to completion
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Working knowledge of relevant software
- Physical Requirements for Position: Walking, Sitting, Standing, Hearing, Effective Verbal Communication, Vision, Inside environmental conditions, sedentary work
- Ability to travel to sites and meetings, as needed.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
