About the Role
We are working with a leading international Management Consultancy rapidly expanding their APAC capabilities. Due to growth, they are seeking a permanent In House Counsel to support their APAC operations. This position will be based in their Sydney office and will be the sole counsel in the region, reporting into the Global Head of Legal, located in Europe. It will work closely with senior stakeholders across the APAC region, advising on a range of legal and commercial issues for the business and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Provide expert advice across the energy sector, including Renewables, Clean Tech & Power Generation
Support a range of Renewable Energy transactions as market advisor
Present commercial advice to energy retailers/large corporate energy users
In house - sole counsel duties - providing advice to the APAC business and consulting workforce.
Energy and Commodity Trading system implementation
Assisting in the preparation of risk and compliance documents
Requirements
Qualified Solicitor or Barrister
Driven professional who thrives on solving complex commercial problems
Solutions focused lawyer, adept at identifying immediate and future risk
Strong understanding and appreciation for the overarching commercial requirements, with the ability to balance competing priorities
Effective negotiator
Able to manage both Internal and external stakeholders - including international and domestic stakeholders, financiers and government bodies.
Strong contract drafting skills
