The Role

One of the main IPPs in Italy is looking for a Head of Development for Renewables to drive business growth and manage our renewable energy project pipeline in the country. This strategic role involves leading the development of utility-scale solar, battery, and onshore wind projects from origination or acquisition through to financial close.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a robust development strategy, overseeing the project pipeline from initial identification, through acquisition, commercial appraisal, design, grid approval, land assemblage, and planning, up to construction.
• Manage and refine project opportunities up to the investment decision and handover to the construction team.
• Lead development activities for utility-scale solar, battery, and onshore wind projects.
• Implement development strategy to deliver pipeline targets, ensuring shareholder value and alignment with business unit strategy.
• Allocate resources effectively to achieve the best pipeline outcomes.
• Work closely with the acquisitions team on new opportunities.
• Engage in relationship management with key stakeholders, providing market insights and positioning the company as a preferred partner.
• Deliver on technical, commercial, and environmental project requirements, including obtaining consents and securing sites for project deployment.
• Uphold health and safety standards throughout the development process, fostering continuous improvement.
• Conduct post-opportunity reviews and measure success against robust KPIs.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Management.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in utility-scale solar, battery, and/or onshore wind projects.
• Proven track record as a Development Project Manager in the renewable energy sector.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Team-oriented mindset.
• Fluency in English and Italian.
