My client is a leading global Private Equity firm who are currently raising a fund to invest in the renewable energy sector in the APAC region.

 A key market for the business is Korea and, as a result of this activity, they are looking to hire an experienced Head of Development to lead the development of greenfield renewable energy projects in the country.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the mapping of the industry landscape in Korea
• Scouting for new project opportunities
• Responsible for the first screening of prospective projects
• Leading or supporting the negotiation of relevant project contracts, including due diligence work
• Working with the project teams in Head Office when necessary
• Leading or supporting licensing, permitting and EIA processes
• Attending project meetings with partners in Korea
• Selecting and then managing partner companies to assist with the project development where necessary
• Continuous reporting on the progress of each project

Requirements

• 10+ years’ relevant experience (within Korea)
• Fluent English and Korean
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Prior experience developing energy projects in the Korean energy and electricity sector
• Strong industry network within Korea
• Experience working with key Korean stakeholders
