About the Role
NextWave is working with a leading renewable energy developer with a strong commitment to sustainability, innovation, and quality, we are dedicated to creating a cleaner and more sustainable future. The developer is expanding their business operations and projects in Japan and is in need of an origination specialist to drive new upcoming projects.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the renewable energy sector, including solar PV projects, energy storage, and related initiatives. Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential projects and partnerships.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies to assess market dynamics and identify potential areas for growth. Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, investors, and customers. Collaborate with relevant parties to drive project development and secure funding.
- Oversee the entire project development process, from inception to execution. Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Conduct financial modeling, risk analysis, and feasibility assessments for potential projects. Make data-driven recommendations and business cases for project investment.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations and incentives related to renewable energy projects. Work with legal and regulatory teams to navigate complex regulatory environments.
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management, including updates on project pipelines, market analysis, and financial performance.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in origination and business development within the renewable energy industry, with a strong network of industry contacts.
- Fluency in Japanese and English
- In-depth knowledge of solar PV technologies, energy storage, and the broader renewable energy landscape.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in financial modeling and analysis.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
