About the Role

NextWave are working with a leading renewable energy developer to help grow their team in Bangkok, Thailand. They are putting together the core members of their team and are looking for a Engineering Lead to work on their renewable energy projects in Thailand.

Roles & Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the engineering team, set annual team strategy with Board of Directors, and ensure team meets company performance target and budget plan.
  • Lead engineering decision-making: provide technical insights, and hands-on support to ensure on-time and on-budget project completion.
  • Cultivate relationships with all key stakeholders: ensure all resources required are available for project implementation.

Team Management and Performance:

  • Set team structure and work scope: set clear team staffing, objectives, targets, and contingency plans.
  • Manage team performance: monitor and track team and contractors, ensure timely and high-quality performance, meeting client expectations and masterplan.
  • Problem-solve issues: manage client and contractors' negotiation, escalate issues, possess resourcefulness to leverage external assets where required.

Talent Recruiting and Development:

  • Manage the Engineering team: oversee performance evaluation and promotion, plan recruitment, and training & development. Motivate and drive team to success, maintain appropriate balance between delegation and control.
  • Identify, coach, and nurture talents: build and contribute towards personal, team, and company growth
  • Exemplify integrity and trustworthiness: ensure team safeguarding Ions and clients ; interests at all times.

Qualifications for the Role:

  • Experience: At least 5 years in solar PV project design, engineering, or O&M with leadership roles. Experience at leading solar PV EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) or PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) investors is preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Natural leaders with strong team management, communication, and interpersonal abilities. They can motivate and inspire the team to perform at their best.
  • Project Management Expertise: A proven track record in solar PV project management, with a solid understanding of the construction process, including design, procurement, and permit applications.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Driven to achieve results, with the ability totackle complex challenges.
  • Client Management: Able to independently represent the company, managing relationships with senior clients and stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree Electrical Engineering
