Chief Financial Officer (Renewable Energy), Chicago
NextWave Partners USA is working with a leading renewable energy developer for this critical leadership hire of a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its growing business in Chicago. This is a high-visibility role in a fast-growing company that has an active project pipeline of 12 GWs and has executed over 2500 MWs of renewable energy PPAs.
The CFO will oversee Finance, M&A, Accounting, Treasury and Reporting activities. The role has to be based in Chicago (this is non-negotiable).
Key Responsibilities:
CFO will be responsible for Accounting, Treasury and Reporting as well as Project Finance and M&A.
CFO will be responsible for overseeing sales and acquisitions of renewable energy development projects, including participating in negotiating and drafting term sheets, purchase agreements, membership interest purchase agreements, and financing documents.
CFO will support commercial and legal teams in the analysis and negotiation of key financing arrangements (sponsor equity, debt, tax equity, joint ventures, joint development agreement).
CFO will work with Board Members, develop a KPI template to review company strategy and goals with a view towards increased profitability and growth objectives.
CFO will put in place accounting and financial reporting structures to prepare the company for, and for supporting, any IPO activities of the company, its affiliates or minority equity investors.
CFO will maintain relationships with power and renewables investors, investment bankers, and advisors to stay current on market trends and opportunities.
Key Requirements:
CFO must have at least 15+ years of power and renewables sector M&A, Strategy and Finance experience.
CFO must have a Bachelor's Degree + MBA from a top institution and designations such as CPA or CFA are preferred.
CFO must be familiar with renewable energy financing structures. He/She should be able to manage personnel performing audits and similar reporting requirements.
CFO will have a solid track record of closing on complex projects and M&A transactions. CFO must have a strong network and be able to interact with investors, lenders, and other third parties.
