NextWave Partners USA is working with a global renewable energy player which is backed by a leading international private equity fund through its 5 billion$ impact investment platform. This is a critical role for an Investment Analyst who will be responsible for leading the valuation efforts for multiple investment opportunities that the client will be evaluated in the renewable energy space in the U.S., as well as for creating investment summaries for managers and investment committees. The role will be based in Miami, FL.

Responsibilities

• Must demonstrate strong financial modeling and analysis skills;

• Highly proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint;

• Strong verbal and written communication skills including comfort with interacting with internal management and transaction counterparties;

• Basic knowledge of accounting and tax treatments related to renewable energy projects (i.e. tax equity partnership flip mechanics);

• Solid understanding of corporate finance and economic concepts;

• Expertise in tax equity modeling including capital accounts, depreciation, and buyouts (preferred);

• Basic conceptual understanding of power markets (preferred);

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in renewable energy financial modeling;

• Resourceful and comfortable working in an unstructured, entrepreneurial environment; this is a transaction-based environment where requirements and deadlines are dictated by deal flow;

• Strong quantitative aptitude with an extremely high level of attention to detail;

• Interested in working in a fast-growing industry that is making a tangible impact on climate change;

• Ability to translate complex quantitative analysis into written, deliverable insights;

• Highly driven, proactive, and hardworking;

• Self-starter that takes pride in optimizing financial models and overall work products;

• Ability to travel as needed;

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and able to conduct business and draft documents in English such language at highest standard. Spanish proficiency is a plus but not required.
