Title: Head of Project Development - Renewable Energy

Our Client

NextWave is working with a leading renewable energy developer who is looking to appoint a new Head of Project Development in the Philippines. The Head of this department will work closely with the other members of the Philippines business development and project teams. He / she shall perform various duties at the professional level in the following key functional areas:

Purpose:

• Lead and supervise project development activities from start of pre-development until Financial Close including securing land and grid connection rights, obtaining all permits and authorizations required, gathering stakeholders support.
• Prepare the applications for a variety of permits and authorisations, required for the development of
• projects
• Run efficient development processes, maintain budgets and timelines.
• Design and implement development processes and methodologies.
• Managing relationships with stakeholders including but limited to government authorities, project partners, landowners and communities, contractors, consultants and surveyors.
• Lead and support all land acquisition activities to secure land rights necessary for the renewable energy projects.
• Appointing and managing consultants for technical and environmental studies and Surveys.
• Managing application processes for permits, licences and other approvals.
• Developing development risk mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, legal and finance to get to the required outcomes.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• 8-10 years project development management experience.
• Experience in developing greenfield utility scale projects, with proven ability to deliver project pipeline.
• Contract negotiation skills.
• Up to date knowledge of market trends and the emerging renewable energy sector.
• Team player able to work closely together with colleagues from multiple disciplines.
• Sound understanding of permitting requirements and land considerations in the Philippines.
• Ability to create and maintain project development budgets and timelines in project management software.
• Excellent network among government institutions and renewable energy stakeholders in the Philippines.
• A highly organised approach to work.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in a high pressure environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to travel nationally as required.
• Financial modelling skills are an added benefit. .
