About the Role

NextWave Partners is working with a cutting-edge renewable energy developer, spearheading the transition towards a sustainable and clean energy future. Backed by a leading investment firm committed to shaping innovative solutions, this company is at the forefront of revolutionising the renewable energy landscape.

They are looking to appoint a Head of Procurementand O&M Contracts to help support their growth and join its Singapore office and be responsible for the procurement department across the APAC region. You will provide functional direction of all procurement matters throughout business operations. The main responsibilities are to:

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and select suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors, while fostering strong vendor relationships. Handle contract negotiations and oversee vendor performance.
  • Create and execute procurement strategies to reduce costs without compromising quality. Analyse supplier pricing, terms, and market trends.
  • Lead the formulation of EPC and O&M contracts for projects. Prepare bid packages, coordinate site visits, assess offers, gain internal approvals, and execute contracts.
  • Supervise inventory levels, ensuring timely availability of materials and equipment, while minimising excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with quality control and project management teams to ensure procured materials meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, addressing potential disruptions, market changes, and logistical challenges.
  • Negotiate procurement contracts, service agreements, and terms to align with project goals and financial objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including environmental and ethical standards, in procurement activities.
  • Develop and manage procurement budgets, monitoring expenses and providing regular financial reports.
  • Advocate for supplier diversity initiatives, actively engaging with diverse suppliers and contractors.
  • Maintain accurate records, generate procurement reports, and offer updates to senior management and project teams.

Qualifications and skills for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (CPSM or CSCP certification is a plus).
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar procurement role, with a minimum of 8 years of experience, preferably in the renewable energy industry.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relations skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and inventory control.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
