About the Company:
We are working with a leading developer in the renewable energy sector, committed to accelerating the energy transition through innovative and sustainable solutions. As part of our rapid expansion in the Asia-Pacific region, they are seeking a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Development Manager to lead and grow their energy storage projects across South Korea.

About the Role:
The BESS Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing utility-scale and commercial BESS projects across Korea. The role will work cross-functionally with internal teams, local stakeholders, partners, and regulatory bodies to bring projects from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of grid-scale BESS projects from site identification through to financial close and handover to construction.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, including technical, regulatory, and financial assessments.
  • Build and manage relationships with landowners, utilities, government authorities, and local partners.
  • Oversee permitting processes, environmental impact assessments, and grid connection applications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, legal, finance, EPC) and external consultants to deliver high-quality projects.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and technology advancements in the Korean energy storage sector.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in energy project development, with at least 2 years in battery storage.
  • Strong knowledge of the Korean electricity market, permitting regulations, and grid interconnection process.
  • Proven track record of leading projects through development milestones.
  • Fluent in Korean and proficient in English (written and spoken).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
