NextWave are working with a leading developer of renewable energy projects worldwide. Due to the growth of their business in Japan, they are planning to hire a Senior Development Lead to lead the development of new offshore wind projects they have in Japan.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing the overall strategy for the offshore wind market for the business
• Lead all projects from greenfield development to buying into existing projects (M&A) and the development of external company partnerships to participate in auctions
• Developing and then leading a local development team to ensure the highest chance of success in the market
• Developing and maintaining senior relationships with local stakeholders in Japan
• Developing and/or screening potential partnership and or co-investment opportunities
• Working closely with being supported by the global renewable energy team in Japan and across Asia
• Taking a problem solving and pragmatic approach to an ever-changing and dynamic industry

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in a relevant field
• 15+ years’ experience in the renewable energy sector in Japan
• Experience developing a wind project from conception to completion in Japan
• Fluency in written and spoken Japanese
