My client is an international developer and owner of Solar projects who are looking to hire a Senior Asset Manager for their business in Japan. The company focuses mainly on development and asset management of Solar Power projects. Renewable energy experience is not essential, however commercial asset management is key. In addition to the senior position, we are also recruiting associates, so please feel free to contact us if you are interested.

 

• Lead asset management activity (construction management, asset management and project management) such as liaise with the lenders, monitoring the covenants and periodical reporting, loan administration, execution of deal closing, drafting investment memos
• Manage 2 asset managers
• Support Senior Portfolio Manager regarding reporting activities
• Manage milestone of transaction documents
• Manage BOJ / METI / Utility Compliance / Filing
• Manage Lender Communication
• Manage EPC/O&M Contract Compliance
• Generate asset management reports for both internal and external stakeholders

• Legal background or experience in structured finance (real estate, utilities, asset management, loan administration, servicer etc)
• Excellent negotiation skills and understanding of Japanese business practices and protocol
• Confident to learn how to deal with external parties including developers, land owners, government agencies, utilities, EPC firms, banks, and legal firms
• Good relationship builder with excellent communication skills
• Proactive self-starter and high-achiever who thrives on a challenge
• Willingness to travel - primarily in Japan
• Strong MS Office skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
• A team player with a good attitude who is excited to work for a smaller company
