About the Role

We are working with a leading developer/IPP in the Japanese Renewable Energy Sector and seeking a Origination Manager to identify and originate investment opportunities in Japan.

Responsibilities

* Explore and identify investment prospects aligning with the Company's criteria, either directly or through partnerships.
* Conduct preliminary evaluations and oversee the due diligence process.
* Prepare documentation for internal and investor approval.
* Negotiate transaction terms with counterparts and spearhead the creation of relevant contracts (SPA, development agreements, PPAs, etc.) in collaboration with other departments.
* Facilitate the closure of approved transactions by the Company or investors.
* Assist various functions during the integration phase post-closure.
* Cultivate relationships with stakeholders, including landowners, utilities, authorities, consultants, partners, and customers, to enhance the company's business capabilities.
* Actively participate in shaping and executing optimal acquisition and origination strategies for the Company.
* Provide support to other functions to help them achieve the overall goals of the Company.

Requirements

* Proactive individual with the ability to lead throughout the entire acquisition cycle.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* Fundamental understanding of finance and investment.
* Basic proficiency in financial modeling.
* Familiarity with the Renewable Energy sector in Japan, particularly PV, and a network within the industry.
* Native-level proficiency in Japanese.
* Basic proficiency in both written and verbal English.
* Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point, capable of developing materials to professional standards.
* Holds a university degree in a relevant field (engineering, business, economics, finance, law, etc.).
* Possesses experience in originating and closing renewable energy transactions, preferably solar, in Japan.
