Our Client



NextWave Partners is working with a cutting-edge renewable energy developer, spearheading the transition towards a sustainable and clean energy future. Backed by a leading investment firm committed to shaping innovative solutions, this company is at the forefront of revolutionising the renewable energy landscape.



They are seeking to recruit an Investment Analyst to strengthen their Asia investment team. This role will be based in Malaysia. The core focus of the role will be to support the Malaysia investments team in evaluating and executing infrastructure investment transactions for climate change mitigation.



Purpose:



  • Preparation and review of investment memos and presentations for internal decision makers and investment committees.



  • Implementation of due diligence work-streams e.g., review due diligence reports, and incorporate due diligence findings into investment analysis.



  • Producing and reviewing financial models including fund models, cash flow analysis, debt sizing and sensitising for the purpose of assessing commercial viability of a transaction, determining optimal capital structure.



  • Identifying transaction risks and how these can be mitigated.



  • Reviewing term sheets and legal documentation together with the internal legal team.



  • Support transaction and portfolio teams across the deal process life cycle i.e., until exit.



  • Preparing detailed investment papers that capture all of the above for presentation and recommendation to the investment committee.







KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS



  • 1-5 years of experience in financial modelling M&A or project finance with exposure to infrastructure related businesses (solar, wind, BESS) in Asia.



  • Strong financial modelling skills and attention to detail.



  • Financial acumen - the capacity to demonstrate knowledge of and insight into financial principles and processes and identify inconsistencies in data.



  • Ability to apply sound business judgement and an analytical, pragmatic, and creative approach to problem solving.



  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively; strong project / process management skills.



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.



  • Technically proficient (Advanced) in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.



  • Invests high levels of energy in work; Flexible & dynamic - self-starter, results driven, ability to deal with change



  • Highly organised and structured, logical, and lateral thinker.
