Title: M&A Lead, APAC

About the Client:

  • Renewable energy developer
  • Strong backing from established private equity fund
  • Lead origination and execution of transactions


Responsibilities:

  • M&A Strategy - Develop and refine the M&A strategy for Asia, aligning it with long-term goals and financial targets.
  • Deal sourcing - Identify and source potential M&A opportunities, including identifying co-investors and partners
  • Lead due diligence efforts, conducting financial, legal, and operational assessments of potential acquisitions, and managing cross-functional teams to evaluate and mitigate risks.
  • Perform financial modeling and analysis
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, and agreements with sellers, and work closely with legal and finance teams to structure and finalize M&A transactions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential sellers, investment banks, legal advisors, and other stakeholders to enhance deal flow and collaboration.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities and threats
  • Ensure that all M&A activities comply with regulatory requirements and environmental standards in the renewables and electrification sectors
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and the board of directors on the progress of M&A initiatives and potential partnerships.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in M&A within renewables
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends, competitors, and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
