NextWave Partners is working exclusively with a well-funded and creative developer that finances, develops, and builds solar and storage C&I and Utility-Scale projects throughout North America.

This role is critical to the successful completion of their projects and will have room to grow within the company as they continue to grow.

Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement, sourcing, and logistics for the development and maintenance of C&I solar projects and BESS opportunities throughout North America
  • Lead commercial negotiations for power generation equipment supply contracts (e.g., solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, solar inverters, trackers, and energy storage equipment).
  • Create contract scope and negotiate items purchased, terms & conditions, and revisions
  • Collaborate with the business development, engineering, accounting, construction, and legal departments regularly to create contract scope
  • Assist in the preparation and management of Request for Proposal packages as well as evaluation of all equipment supply bids
  • Collaborate with the engineering procurement, project engineering, construction, and operations teams to analyze procurement options and to assist in making equipment supply recommendations that best position their pipeline of renewable energy projects
  • Negotiate final pricing and the establishment of supply contracts and master purchase agreements; implement commodity-sourcing strategies to address market conditions, technology, and service needs 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, distributors, and services providers; identify and lead appropriate field operations resources to execute initiatives and manage supplier relationships
  • Consider price, quality, availability, reliability, and technical support when choosing suppliers and materials
  • Build and manage department budgets; prepare and present weekly and monthly reports to management. Develop and improve reports that define procurement goals and objectives
  • Work closely with and support the business development and estimating team to enable a competitive bidding process into RFPs
  • Negotiate Master Supply Agreements (MSA) with major suppliers for long term pricing and availability
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with various types of shipping, transportation, and logistics agents to identify and resolve product shipping and logistics issues
  • Collaborating with team members when necessary to ensure effective communication and results
  • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by the senior leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline
  • 5 or more years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or a related field
  • Proven and influential verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills, with an understanding of the legal aspects of procurement
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to negotiate multiple high value, high-risk equipment supply contracts simultaneously while fulfilling project stakeholder contractual requirements and maintaining projects schedules
  • Technical understanding of solar PV modules, solar inverters, trackers, or battery storage equipment
  • Experience with contract administration
  • The ability to prioritize multiple and simultaneous projects, issues, and activities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and implementation and facilitation skills
