The Role
As the Head of Grid Connection in Greece, you will autonomously manage a diverse and growing team throughout the entire grid/solar lifecycle of our pipeline in Greece. This role requires close collaboration with development, construction, and asset management teams to ensure the successful and cost-effective completion of projects. You should possess both technical and commercial knowledge, strategic planning skills, a strong network of contacts, and knowledge of the TSO/DNO/ICPs and government agencies responsible for grid connections. Experience in the design, engineering, and construction of EHV substations and lines connected to the Greek System is crucial.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Grid project team, ensuring timely and budget-friendly completion of projects and achievement of objectives.
  • Advise the Grid team in Greece on factors related to grid connections and manage timelines and document deliverables.
  • Support in managing construction and procurement, developing relationships with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the Owners Engineering, including design reviews, and manage the submission of grid applications in Greece.
  • Develop standardized arrangements for grid connections to reduce installation time and cost.
  • Work with the Greece Business Development team to develop strategies to increase the pipeline.
  • Analyze TSO/DNO energy capacity data and regulations to support the company in new opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with key stakeholders involved in the grid connection process.

Requirements

Knowledge:

  • Strong technical knowledge of Greece TSO facilities and understanding of the grid connection process.
  • Direct contacts with key transmission and governmental agencies in Greece.
  • Understanding of market operations and behavior in Greece from a commercial and trading perspective.
  • Deep knowledge in HV/MV substation and circuit design, construction standards, and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Preferably a degree in electrical power systems or electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years (desirable 10+) proven track record in a similar role.

  • Strong computing skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
