About the role
NextWave Partners are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Naval Architect/Structural Engineer to join a leading consultancy in the offshore wind industry. You will play a crucial role in designing, analysing, and implementing structures that support offshore wind projects. Your expertise will contribute to the advancement of renewable energy solutions and shape the future of sustainable power generation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in the structural design and analysis of offshore wind turbine foundations, substructures, and associated components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to project planning and feasibility assessments, offering technical input to shape project scope and risk analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geotechnical engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Implement and oversee quality control processes to validate the structural integrity of components and systems and address any identified issues.
- Stay abreast of industry regulations, ensuring designs and engineering activities align with safety, environmental, and legal standards.
- Identify and resolve engineering challenges, leveraging your technical knowledge and innovative thinking to overcome obstacles.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, records, and design documentation, fostering effective communication and transparency among project teams.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to remain at the forefront of industry advancements and incorporate best practices into project work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the naval, O&G or offshore wind industry.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software and engineering tools.
- Familiarity with offshore wind industry standards and best practices is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
