About the role

NextWave Partners are currently seeking an experienced Stakeholder Management Lead to support a major Offshore Wind developer in Japan. You will play a crucial role in the client's ambitions in renewable energy development. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, technical experts, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, you will be responsible for managing stakeholder engagements, securing necessary approvals, and overseeing the development of offshore wind projects in Japan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute stakeholder management strategies aligned with regulatory policies for offshore wind projects in Japan.
  • Lead the development and coordination of land and stakeholder agreements in collaboration with project teams.
  • Ensure timely delivery of stakeholder and land agreements, adhering to project timelines and objectives.
  • Work closely with project teams to implement strategies for land elements and commercial agreements.
  • Establish and implement quality assurance processes for the execution of land and stakeholder agreements.
  • Foster collaboration within the project team to achieve required land and stakeholder agreements.
  • Provide coaching and knowledge transfer within the project team, promoting continuous learning and development.
  • Advise on stakeholder agreements, provide insights on land agreement matters, and contribute to due diligence processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and strategic workstreams across the Japanese offshore wind portfolio.
  • Collaborate with line managers on resource needs, team structure, and staff development plans.
  • Report key project updates and potential challenges to strategic workstreams, mitigating risks and ensuring project success.

Requirements for Success

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of previous experience in land and stakeholder agreement activities within the renewable energy sector.
  • Proven track record of leading land and stakeholder agreement activities for major renewable energy projects or operations.
  • Ability to confidently engage with external and internal stakeholders, providing strategic advice to business leaders.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
