About the Role

We are working with a leading developer expanding in Japan and are seekimg a Head of Business Development to spearhead their business and drive opportunities through origination.

Responsibilities

  1. Drive lead and opportunity generation through independent initiatives, including business networking.
  2. Manage backlog and pipeline to meet annual development investment goals and origination targets.
  3. Understand Japan's market dynamics, collaborate on refining strategy, and lead project life cycles.
  4. Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders (contractors, developers, clients, consulants, & METI) and oversee all aspects of project development.
  5. Evaluate market drivers, stay updated on industry trends, and maintain a competitive position.
  6. Assist Regional Head in managing the Business Development Department and achieving targets.
  7. Implement quarterly targets for gross margin and revenue, with specific remediation plans as needed.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field.
  2. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in project management and/or energy-related development.
  3. Strong knowledge of renewable project investment, financial modeling, and project management.
  4. Proven track record in developing, constructing, and closing large transactions, managing multiple projects.
  5. Expertise in structuring, negotiating, and closing transactions.
  6. Excellent communication skills, willingness to travel within Japan.
  7. Ability to interact effectively with senior executives.
  8. Passion for developing a career in a multinational company with diverse teams.
  9. Resilience to adapt to changes and overcome difficulties in complex projects.
