About the Role

We are working with a global renewable energy developer which is expanding in Japan and seeking a Senior Engineer to to work across the development of their utility scale projects.

Responsibilities

Engineering Management:

  • Oversee engineering development in various stages, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance with standards.
  • Evaluate and justify deviations from Technical Standards for project solvency and efficiency.
  • Foster innovation and communication between local teams and Corporate Areas for best practices.

Engineering Specialized Support:

  • Create specifications for projects, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Provide technical support in tenders and negotiations for optimal conditions.
  • Coordinate key studies for integration into projects, minimizing risks.
  • Manage supplier relationships for efficient options in designs.

Common Standards and Compliance:

  • Apply common standards, adapting to local regulations for investment efficiency.
  • Identify and adapt inconsistencies in standards.
  • Adhere to company policies for safety, environment, and quality.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Civil Engineering degree required.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in planning, engineering, and design for PV Plants, BESS, substations, and high voltage lines, with a focus on civil and structural works.
  • Advantageous to have Japan permitting experience.
  • Proficient in basic engineering design for civil and structural aspects.
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering management, project supervision, and team coordination.
  • Preferably, experience in Renewable Energy and/or Power utility.

Required Knowledge:

  • Expertise in civil earthworks, geotechnical review, and structural design.
  • Knowledge of power transmission systems and substation equipment is advantageous.
  • Bilingual in Japanese and English.
  • Proficient in office software.
