​NextWave Partners is working for a leading renewable energy developer who is growing their team in Singapore as they expand their footprint within the APAC region.

For that purpose, they are looking for someone within their Global Procurement Division to join as a Supplier Quality Assurance and Sustainability Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.

  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Supplier Quality activities.

  • Lead supplier development strategy, designing the metrics for the function and supplier performance.

  • Lead planning and implementation of ISO20400 Sustainable Procurement standard-based procurement policy and procedures.

  • Carry out supplier validation audits, with supplier support and supplier advanced product quality planning.

  • Work with Engineering (Design and Commercial Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements

  • Support category procurement team with the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Sustainability risks.

  • Manage the root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues

  • Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues.

  • Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.

  • Where appropriate work with the supplier directly, create corrective action plans to address process failures.

  • Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.

  • Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).

  • Review documentation of inspection results across all areas. In appropriate functional areas, this refers to supporting inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations, engineering product specifications or Control Plans, PPAP approval or product warrant submission.

  • Monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance understanding any commercial issues and impacts.

  • Manage the Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Lead quality audits for suppliers.

  • Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management System.

  • Support regular inspection meetings with representatives from stakeholders to establish an action plan for improving build quality.

  • Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product quality.

  • Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Science degree in Power, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

  • Master in Science degree or MBA preferred

  • Professional certification like Green or Black Belt / Lean Six Sigma experience including tooling (e.g. SPC, FMEA, 8D)

  • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential and any other foreign language like Mandarin, Spanish or German is advantage

Requirements

  • Proven track record in the renewable industry in leadership role

  • Experience in managing Supplier on Quality Performance, preferably in complex High-Tech and low volume industry

  • Business experience of +8 years in Operations, Global Sourcing, Procurement, Quality or Sustainability

  • Experience in Quality Improvement & Operational Excellence in Manufacturing environment

  • Experience in implementing ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement, participating in improvement projects across the Supply Chain, auditing (ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent), quality tools.

  • Experience in complex work environment with multiple stakeholders

  • Experience in supporting multi-functional projects in an international work environment with remote locations

  • Previous experience of doing business in Asia

  • Strong understanding of the global solar and energy market (suppliers, distributors and contractors) is essential
