About the role
Our client is an established telecommunication company that delivers mobile and fixed services to a customer base exceeding 2 million. They are currently in the search of a Project Deployment Engineer to join their growing team.
Roles and responsibilities
- Conduct preconfiguration and staging of network equipment.
- Carry out onsite deployment and implementation of various network devices such as ONT, routers, firewalls, switches, and wireless APs, conducting User Acceptance Testing with clients.
- Perform troubleshooting onsite in the event of deployment issues.
- Offer technical guidance and counsel to the project management team to resolve problems.
- Prepare documentation including User Acceptance Test (UAT) reports, Site Acquisition Reports, and Site Survey Reports complete with network diagrams.
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of a Diploma in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Technology or hold certifications such as CCNA/CCNP.
- Additional certifications in Cisco/Aruba/Fortinet/Juniper are advantageous.
- Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrate strong experience in deploying WAN/LAN/WLAN network equipment from various providers like Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.
- Must be available to support onsite deployments outside of regular office hours.
- Possess a solid understanding of networking principles, routing, and switching.
- Exhibit adept problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience in conducting site surveys and network design is beneficial.
- Familiarity with fibre optics, cross-connect, or data center connectivity is an advantage.
- Possess effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Be a cooperative team player willing to be on standby duty when necessary.
