The Principal Edge Connectivity Engineer is responsible for the collection, integration and transformation of industrial data to the Cloud. 

This role requires a passion and self-starter attitude to solve many of the technical challenges in an OT/IT environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides site deployment and provisioning of industrial platform devices within the APAC region
• Provisioning of sensor devices connectivity to the Cloud
• Provisioning of IT system connectivity to the Cloud
• Provides overall connectivity specifications and solutions
• Provides overall data model specifications and solutions
• Performs data validation to ensure good data quality
• Provides proper project and engineering documentations
• Provides technical hands-on training session to external customers
• Provides technical support to pre-sales team

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science or relevant qualifications
• Minimum of eight (8) years of industrial connectivity experience
• Strong experience in ensuring good data quality
• Strong experience in IoT protocols (MQTT, AMQP, CoAP)
• Strong experience in low power wide area network experience (NB-IoT, LoRaWAN)
• Strong experience in API and webservices
• Strong experience working with XML and JSON
• Knowledge in networking setups (DNS, DHCP, Firewall, Gateways, Routers)
• Knowledge of SSL, CA certificates, role-based authentication
• Knowledge of IoT and Industry 4.0 concepts
• Good to have edge or fog computing experience
• Good to have OT protocols (Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, IEC 104) experience
• Good to have operational management system (BMS, MES, WMS) experience
• Good to have Unix, Java or Python programming experience
• Good to have technical solutioning experience
• Good to have analytics and big data experience
• Good to have OT or IT Security experience
• Knowledge of sensor and instrumentation is a plus
• Knowledge Linux OS is a plus
• Knowledge of PaaS, SaaS and IaaS is a plus
• Knowledge of system engineering (high availability, back-up, restore, migration) is a plus
• Professional certification is a plus (CCNA)
• Able to travel 15% - 20% of the time
