NextWave Partners is working with a leading EPC to support the expansion of their engineering teams in Asia.

The client focuses on EPC work on large scale thermal power projects in Asia and is looking for someone to be based in their regional hub in Asia.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Key SLD, Swgr SLD, DC & UPS SLD, BSDG/EDG SLD, Overall Protection SLD
  • Prepare & consolidate Load List
  • Performing System Studies – Load Flow, Short circuit, Voltage Drop, Transient Stability
  • Prepare & review sizing calculations – Power Transformers (GSUT & UAT), GCB, IPBD, LV
  • Auxiliary Transformers, DC System, UPS System, BSDG / EDG, Power transformer losses
  • Prepare & develop Logic Diagrams – MV & LV Swgr, GCB, BSDG / EDG System
  • Prepare & review Electrical Operation Philosophy
  • Prepare Plant Trip Matrix
  • Prepare Protective relay coordination
  • Prepare RFQ, perform techno commercial evaluations and recommend vendor for various
  • electrical packages
  • Review & approval of Vendor engineering for various electrical vendor packages like Power
  • Transformers, GCB, IPBD, Switchgears, LV Aux. Transformers, DC & UPS system, BSDG/EDG, VFD, Cathodic protection, BOP Electrical packages
  • Review, approval & Coordination of STG OEM’s &/or Gas Turbine OEM’s vendor engineering.
  • Knowledge on Switchyard Interfaces
  • Preparation of Control & power Cable Connection List
  • Preparation of Electrical DCS I/O list, DCS interface Philosophy
  • Preparation of indices like Cost, Transformer losses etc
  • Coordination with other disciplines, Site, Vendors, OEM’s, Owner Consultants/Owner
  • Shall be worked earlier either for EPC/Consultancy/Owners Engineer firms

Software requirements

  • Well versed with latest version of ETAP
  • Well versed with MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point,
  • Knowledge on COMOS is added advantage
  • Knowledge on MS Projects/Prima Vera is added advantage

Experience

  • Shall have minimum of 12 years of experience in Power Generation/Oil & Gas industry
  • Shall have minimum of 6 to 8 years of work experience in Power Generation
  • Shall have capability of engineering, design, and verification of the electrical systems of the
  • plant based on the Project Specifications, standards, all applicable design codes, laws, and
  • permits
  • Shall conduct & lead the Design review meetings at various stage of the projects for various electrical packages
  • Shall maintain the drawing/document submittal/approval schedule to Owner, Vendor
  • Shall have sufficient knowledge for preparing the engineering schedule & electrical L3 Schedule
  • Shall adhere to the L3 schedule
  • Shall prepare Master List document submittal to Owner
  • Shall coordinate with other disciplines, Procurement team, Switchyard, Vendors, Site team,
  • Owners Engineers/Consultant
  • Shall update the Discipline Manager for progress of the project, any spillage of schedule or issues, any cost impacts etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of codes and standards: IEEE, IEC, NEEMA, NFPA,
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports
  • Shall lead by example & guide the team
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to analyze and make decisions based on broad range of data
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Negotiation skills
