Head of Sustainability
We are currently looking for an experienced Head of Sustainability to spearhead the establishment of a team with primary duties focused on developing tools to calculate the LCA footprint.
Responsibilities:
Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert for supply chain/LCA carbon management standards, reports, emission activities, sources, and libraries.
Product Requirements and Documentation: Develop clear and concise business process documentation, including product requirement documents and user stories, to effectively communicate product requirements to software architects and development teams.
Market Alignment: Ensure that carbon management product modules align with market best practices, trends, and the latest requirements to stay competitive.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Sales, Operations, Developer Engineers, Marketing, and Management, to deliver new product ideas and enhance existing products.
Requirements:
Educational Qualifications: Possessing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technology, Environmental Science, or equivalent.8-10 years of experience in the sustainability space and at least 5 years of management experience (a plus point would be experience in building teams from scratch or have experience in scaling teams)
Proficiency in Product Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methods and industry standards.
Acquaintance with Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) databases and datasets related to unit process emissions.
Comprehension of data quality and scoring approaches for Scope 3 emissions.
Sustainability Expertise: Having at least 3 years of experience in sustainability consulting or in-house sustainability management roles is critical to understanding and addressing environmental challenges effectively.
Knowledge of Global Standards: Familiarity with global sustainability and carbon management frameworks and standards, such as GHGP, TCFD, SASB, GRI, SBTi, etc., is crucial for ensuring compliance and best practices.
Analytical and Problem-solving Skills: Excellent analytical skills and the ability to develop practical solutions for complex scenarios, including the capacity to synthesize data for technical teams, are vital for success in the role.
Communication and Teamwork: Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization are important for collaboration and successful product development.
