Job Descriptions

One of our clients, a leading developer specializes in Renewable Energy both C&I and Utility scale is currently hiring for Head of Project Development in the field of renewable energy. This position comes with the responsibility of identifying, developing, and closing large-scale renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in steering projects from inception to financial closure, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Opportunity Identification:

    • Explore and identify new opportunities for large-scale renewable projects.
    • Evaluate potential projects by reviewing opportunities and formulating appropriate development, acquisition, execution, and commercial closure strategies.
  2. Feasibility Assessment:

    • Collaborate with the land acquisition and engineering teams to conduct a thorough review of project feasibility studies.
    • Mitigate risks at the early stages of development by actively participating in risk assessment processes.
  3. Project Origination and Closure:

    • Lead client and partner-facing activities, taking charge of projects from origination to financial close.
    • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders to ensure project success.
  4. Regulatory Compliance:

    • Conduct regular meetings with town planners to review crucial documents for pre-lodgement meetings.
    • Oversee the preparation and submission of necessary documentation, including site plans, ecological assessments, bushfire hazard assessments, environmental impact studies, and flood study reports.
  5. Grid Connection Management:

    • Negotiate with Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSP) at various stages of the grid connection application process.
    • Review and provide input on technical reports, such as PER, DER review, PSS/E, PSCAD GPS study reports, and connection offers.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business, Renewable Energy).
  • Proven experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on large-scale projects.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory processes and compliance in the renewable energy sector.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with technical aspects of grid connection and power system studies.
