About the Role

NextWave is working closely with a renewable energy developer that is actively looking to hire a Head of Operations to manage and oversee both technical and engineering teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of technical and engineering professionals, setting clear objectives, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment.

  • Drive operational efficiency and excellence throughout the organization by implementing best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure that all technical and engineering activities meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. Oversee the design, manufacturing, and installation of solar products and solutions.

  • Implement rigorous quality control measures to maintain the highest standards in product quality, safety, and reliability.

  • Manage the allocation of resources, including budget, equipment, and personnel, to meet operational goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and R&D, to ensure a seamless integration of operations within the broader business strategy.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, environmental standards, and health and safety guidelines.

  • Develop and maintain operational performance metrics and KPIs, regularly reporting on key performance indicators to executive leadership.

Requirements:

  • Native fluency in Japanese and conversational English a must
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.

  • Proven track record of at least 7-10 years in operations management and technical leadership, with a focus on manufacturing, engineering, or renewable energy.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects.

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a passion for developing and mentoring talent.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • In-depth knowledge of the solar energy industry and a commitment to sustainability and renewable energy solutions.

  • Familiarity with Japanese regulatory and environmental standards is a plus.
