About the Role

NextWave Partners are currently engaged with the leading provider of news and insights on global carbon markets. They are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and strategic leader to serve as their Head of EMEA. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of carbon markets and climate policy and a track record in driving growth in a fast-paced news environment. The role will involve leading the company's EMEA operations, collaborating with other regional teams, and overseeing news reporting on a variety of topics related to carbon markets and climate policy.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the EMEA operations, ensuring effective coordination with global teams to deliver on the company's mission and strategic goals.
  • Spearhead business development efforts in the region, identifying new opportunities and developing strategic partnerships to enhance the company's market presence.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including subscribers, policymakers, market participants, industry leaders, and other sources.
  • Provide thought leadership on carbon markets and climate policy, representing the company at industry events.
  • Oversee regional editorial content, ensuring it meets the company's high standards of quality, relevance, and accuracy.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a competitive, high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Experience in a senior leadership role. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team and making strategic decisions.
  • Deep understanding of carbon markets and climate policy. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the carbon market and climate policy, particularly within the EMEA region.
  • Good understanding of financial markets. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of financial markets and how they work.
  • Strong English skills. The ideal candidate will have strong English skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to speak and understand additional languages. The ability to speak and understand additional languages, such as French, German, Italian, and/or Spanish, is a valuable trait.
  • Proven track record in business development and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing new business opportunities and managing relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, with a proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to travel as needed. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to travel as needed for business purposes.
