About the Role

NextWave is working with a major renewable energy developer, backed by a large private energy transition fund, to find a Grid Manager who will be tasked with managing grid connection efforts for their wind, solar and storage projects in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Oversee grid connection planning and implementation for onshore renewable projects, ensuring regulatory compliance
• Manage interconnection agreements and grid capacity studies with utilities and grid operators
• Provide technical guidance on grid integration, power quality, and stability for renewable assets
• Monitor grid performance, manage risks, and optimise grid availability to enhance profitability
• Ensure all grid activities comply with current regulations and industry standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field
• 4+ years of experience in grid management or power systems within the renewable energy sector
• Strong knowledge of grid codes, interconnection processes, and regulatory requirements
• Experience with grid connection studies, power flow analysis, and system impact assessments
• Proficiency in power systems and grid analysis software such as PSS®E, PowerFactory, or similar tools
