Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for technical designs, both structural and electrical, at various stages from conceptual design to detailed engineering designs and ensure compliance with standards and codes
- Coordinating internal and external teams, engineers, consultants and authorities to assess project viability and resolve technical issues for solar photovoltaic (PV) projects
- Establishing processes, standards, tools and templates for the engineering team to deliver industry-leading designs and optimised solar photovoltaic projects
- Reviewing, commenting and approving documents or drawings submitted by contractors before construction
- Possessing the ability to create and review Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for Request for Proposals (RFP)
- Conducting site visits to project sites from opportunity to project implementation and resolving PV system challenges
- Conduct design review meetings with internal and external stakeholders as needed to maintain proper quality assurance and quality controls on projects
- Assisting development team, construction team and operations team with engineering-related questions
- Working on multiple projects simultaneously, managing competing priorities and overcoming obstacles to successfully meet project milestones
- Possessing good understanding on design aspects related to medium voltage design requirements on 11/33/kV networks
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in technical discipline
- 8+ years project engineering or design experience
- Knowledge of local and international engineering and related standards and familiar with local authorities (eg. PEA, MEA, private utility provider, ERC, IEAT etc.) technical requirements
- Working knowledge of construction and electrical principles
- Solar photovoltaic system design experience is a plus
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite
- Experience with MS Project, Sketchup and PVsyst is a plus
- Eager to learn and develop a deeper understanding of PV design and construction
- Able to work in tandem with a global team of internal and external stakeholders
