Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for technical designs, both structural and electrical, at various stages from conceptual design to detailed engineering designs and ensure compliance with standards and codes
  • Coordinating with various internal and external teams, engineers, consultants and authorities to assess the project viability and resolve technical issues for solar photovoltaic (PV) projects
  • Establishing processes, standards, tools and templates for the engineering team to deliver industry leading designs and optimised solar photovoltaic projects
  • Reviewing, commenting and approving documents or drawings submitted by contractors before construction
  • Possessing the ability to create and review Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for Request for Proposals (RFP)
  • Conducting site visits to project sites from opportunity to project implementation and resolving PV system challenges
  • Holding design review meetings with internal and external stakeholders as needed to maintain proper quality assurance and quality controls on projects
  • Assisting development team, construction team and operations team with engineering- related questions
  • Working on multiple projects simultaneously, managing competing priorities and overcoming obstacles to successfully meet project milestones
  • Possessing good understanding on design aspects related to medium voltage design requirements on 11/33/kV networks

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline
  • 8+ years of project engineering or design experience
  • Working knowledge of construction and electrical principles
  • Solar photovoltaic system design experience is a plus
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite
  • Experience with MS Project, Sketchup and PVsyst is a plus
  • Eager to learn and develop a deeper understanding of PV design and construction
  • Able to work independently and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
  • Able to work in tandem with a global team of internal and external stakeholders
