About the Role
Our client are a leading renewable energy company dedicated to sustainable practices and the widespread adoption of solar energy across the UK. As a rapidly growing organization based in London, they are committed to fostering positive relationships with local communities while implementing innovative solar projects that drive the nation towards a greener future.
They are currently seeking a dynamic and proactive Community Liaison Manager to oversee and nurture relationships between their renewable energy business and the diverse communities where their solar projects are situated across the UK.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in engaging with stakeholders, local authorities, residents, and other relevant parties to ensure that projects are seamlessly integrated into the communities they serve.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute community engagement strategies to build positive relationships with stakeholders in areas where solar projects are planned or ongoing.
- Act as a primary point of contact between the company and local communities, addressing concerns, and fostering open communication channels.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between project goals and community expectations, considering social, cultural, and environmental impacts.
- Organize and participate in community events, meetings, and outreach programs to promote awareness and garner support for renewable energy initiatives.
- Conduct regular site visits, engaging with community members and stakeholders to address inquiries and feedback regarding ongoing projects.
- Facilitate the resolution of issues by working collaboratively with stakeholders, internal teams, and relevant authorities to find mutually beneficial solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of community interactions, feedback, and engagement efforts to support reporting and project evaluations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in community engagement and stakeholder relations for a minimum 5 years.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Environmental Studies, Public Relations, or related field would be beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse groups and individuals.
- Knowledge of renewable energy industry practices, environmental regulations, and community engagement strategies.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently while managing multiple community engagement initiatives simultaneously.
