About the role

We are working with a product company to look for a skilled Backend Lead Engineer. As a team leader, your responsibilities will encompass leading the development, maintenance, and support of a complex web application built on Nodejs. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to delve into progressive concepts, technologies, and frameworks such as Typescript, Docker, and AWS, enriching your skill set along the way.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Work closely with fellow engineers to conceptualize, develop, and implement backend services catering to both external clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Actively engage in technical dialogues within the team, employing collaboration, pair programming, code reviews, RFCs, or architecture review sessions.
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring the stability, reliability, security, and overall quality of our products.
  • Interface with senior management and cross-functional teams, contributing to decision-making processes.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in backend development, utilizing NodeJS, Golang, Python, or Java.
  • Proficiency in working with databases and data processing technologies such as Postgres, MySQL, Elasticsearch, etc.
  • Thorough grasp of object-oriented programming principles, architecture patterns, and SOLID principles.
  • Robust familiarity with service-oriented architecture (SOA) standards, REST APIs, JSON, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Sound understanding of core computer science concepts including data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
  • Proficiency in designing and maintaining distributed systems, including replication models and ensuring data consistency.
  • Prior experience with unit testing and integration testing methodologies.
  • Comfortable with Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
  • Familiarity with geospatial data handling, particularly in routing contexts.
  • Experience in deploying microservices to production environments.
  • Familiarity with application monitoring tools like DataDog or NewRelic.
