About the Role

The Senior Energy Market Analyst (Data) will be responsible to build out our power modelling and data capabilities. This role requires a sound understanding of energy markets and market

fundamentals and experience in analysis of one or more Australian / Asian power markets.

Responsibilities

* Responsible for providing detailed market analyses

* Knowledge of regional markets, regulation and market fundamentals

* Comparing model results, reviewing preliminary forecast output results for inconsistencies

* Extensive data research. Responsible for maintaining a large database of energy related

data. Data sources include data-providers, industry publications, regulatory agencies and

web research.

* Maintaining configured country model ready data sets for our software

* Running our software and interpreting output model results and energy balances

* Working with the product management team on data requirements and reporting necessary for our SaaS and on-premise products.

Requirements

* Energy Modeling and Market Analysis background

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and learn new techniques

* Experience in creating and analysing data sets for power models

* 1 year or more experience in energy market modeling with knowledge of one or more Asian

power markets and experience with electric utility resource planning

* Experience working in a market operator or at a utility in planning would be an asset

* Knowledge of one or more energy modeling tools
