My client is a developer in China, backed by one of the largest funds in the world. They’re looking for a project development manager to focus on Wind and Solar development in China.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations for project acquisition and manage the acquisition/transaction process
• Lead negotiations with prospective development partners and assume responsibility for external relationships
• Lead and coordinate internal and external project development efforts including securing land, obtaining required local permits and approvals, securing interconnection rights from utilities, negotiating PPAs with utilities, establishing EPC and O&M agreements
• Lead market reviews, analyzing regulatory issues and policy supports for utility-scale solar and develop development strategies for countries or regions
• Lead bidding processes to submit bid packages in response to Request for Proposals (RFPs) from utilities and private off-takers

Requirements

• 7 - 10 years of professional relevant experience
• Significant experience with renewable project development in China
• Understanding of power markets and in particular renewable energy
• Working knowledge and understanding of power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, permitting requirements and EPC contract terms and conditions is preferable, but not required
• Speaking of Chinese is a MUST
