From Next Wave Partners we are looking for a Head of Environmental and Permitting for one of the leading and fast growing companies in the photovoltaic field.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidates should have a solid knowledge of the Dutch environmental and planning system.

Preferably also knowledge in the upcoming new environmental law (Omgevingswet).

Preferably 10+ years' experience in a relevant field, including experience managing environmental permit applications

Team management or mentoring experiencing of junior team members preferrable

Bachelor's Degree or higher (master's degree) in spatial planning / environmental law or similar.

You are passionate about your discipline and know how to translate relevant developments in the field, example case law and the approaching Environmental law, directly into your projects;

You see opportunities in the market, and you have commercial affinity;

Strong project management skills.

Fluent Dutch and English is required.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a commercially minded professional to lead on environmental and permitting matters for our significant Dutch pipeline of utility-scale solar parks.

The role will involve leading on the development of our approach to all aspects of the environmental planning process, including feasibility assessments, site visits, appointing and managing consultants to prepare applications, engaging with municipalities and aldermen, and keeping track of policy developments.

You will work closely with other internal teams, both national and international, including

development, project management, asset management and structured finance.

.- Responsibilities

Identifying and reporting on environmental and permitting risks, requirements and

timeframes across our project pipeline.

Identifying the best approaches to progressing our pipeline through the permitting stages.

Building and managing a team, including workload allocation and review, providing direction

and support on approaches to planning, stakeholder engagement, and consultant selection

and management, tracking of key pipeline milestones, and line management responsibilities.

Lead on high level relationships with external planning and environmental consultants -

ensuring we receive expected value and quality.

Developing strong relationships with internal team members and being involved in

maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders.

Feeding into and working with Director of Environmental and Social Planning on

implementing departmental strategic objectives.

Engaging with local municipalities and aldermen to promote our projects and identify

opportunities / areas with policy supportive of our projects.

Guiding community participation and communication process, including attending

community engagement events.

Tracking local and national level policy regarding solar to identify opportunities.
